Introduction to DC Universe Online

DC Universe Online or DCUO is the MMORPG set up by Sony Online Entertainment Austin in the DC Universe. The goal of Sony Online Entertainment is to create a different type of MMORPG, of which the incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction is considered one of the main inspirations for gameplay. SOE is working to make DC Universe Online more interactive than standard MMORPGs while trying to preserve its key elements, including leveling systems, raid instances, ending processes and DC Universe Online Cash. The world is primarily a shared public space, not a hero or villain with territory. The public space has dynamically generated content designed for hero and villain player characters (created uniquely by the player, not DCU loyal users).

DC Universe Online is currently open, but the opening film sequence takes place in a war-torn future, depicting the last battle between the world's greatest heroes and villains.

The battle took place in the ruins of the metropolis and featured the deaths of several famous DC comic characters. The end result of the battle was the death of Superman in the hands of Lex Luthor. Luthor stood up and announced his victory, just to see that Brainiac's warfleet filled the sky.

Then the scene shifts to the current Justice League watchtower, and the future Luthor will tell the story to the current Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. Luthor explained that the only reason he can kill Superman is that, over time, Brainiac has been slowly taking power from Earth Heroes. Brainiac intends to use the stolen energy to create an army of deformed metal under his control to promote his conquest of the earth. This plan was abandoned because Luthor and his allies were able to destroy the Justice League. Luthor explained that he was the only survivor of the war and could not resist Brainiac's conquest of the earth.

Luthor explained that he was able to steal stolen energy from Brainiac's mother ship in the form of "exobytes," a nano-robot-sized device that projects energy into a living host. Luthor has walked through his past, releasing exobytes into the atmosphere of today's Earth. The heroes are angry, but Luthor explains that because he has done this, there will soon be ordinary humans creating thousands of new humans. He begged the Justice League to find and train these new Transformers, because Brainiac is coming, the Earth must be ready to succeed in the place where Luthor failed.
