RuneScape Getting New Lore Chapter, Desperate Measures, On July 27

After 19 years, RuneScape gold still finds opportunities for innovation and ensures that players keep coming back to do more. The game recently released a brand new skill - archeology - that adds a wealth of new content to the world of Gielinor. Jagex is now preparing to release Desperate Measures on July 27, a continuation of last year's Desperate Times story.

Desperate measures advance the quest line of the older gods as the players assemble a ragged crew to explore the land of Anachronia. The archeology skill will appear to play a major role in this update and will allow adventures to unravel previously unknown information about the Dragon Kin - a breed of intelligent, dragon-like humanoids.

The July 27 update will "set things in motion that will inevitably lead to the ascension of the older gods and wars of the older gods". As is common with these updates, you must be a member to take full advantage.

RuneScape has seen quite a resurgence lately - that is, if it ever really died. Millions of players sign up for the nostalgic title every month and Old School RuneScape is one of the most watched MMORPGs on Twitch. Believe it or not, it often beats popular titles like Path of Exile, Black Desert Online and Final Fantasy XIV in terms of simultaneous viewers. RuneScape may not be as popular as Old School RuneScape, but it has a committed following and is constantly releasing new content.

A mobile adaptation of Old School RuneScape that was released a few years ago - no doubt helped to rekindle the franchise's obsession with the population. RuneScape, often referred to as RuneScape 3, can now also be played on Android. A closed beta for iOS is in the works.

When Desperate Times was released in 2019, players were incredibly happy with the end product. The fans were impressed by the cutscenes, voice-over and the thorough summary that allowed everyone to enjoy the new content. Jagex has also done a fantastic job of introducing the archeology skill, and there is great hope that Desperate Measures will use this new ability effectively and is a reasonable continuation of Desperate Times.
